Default Good general maintenance - S3

Hey folks,

Excellent forum with good forumites...

I am to be a proud new owner of a second hand Audi S3 165kw...haven't slept a wink last night...have the same feelings as when I was a kid waiting for an awesome pressie.

Anyhow...I hope my questions have found the right forum....

Any advice on good general engine maintenance...?
Tips on when to hit the pedal hard and when not to?
Things to do and observe with a high performance Supercharged Turbo 1.8 engine?

Really look forward to hearing some replies...

Thanks gents,

Ciao,

Pope

enjoy the car before spending mega bucks on mods its quite responsive as it is in stock form then let the hammer drop if you feel the need for speed

general maintenance is what it says (oil changes + oil filter with good quality oil no skimping) air filter/tyre pressures, quality high octane fuel 98 Ron and the usual maintenance like cleaning/polishing

Gave her an almost sickenly sensual wash over and polish this weekend...that's when you notice every little "blemish" on her body...

Buffing here we come.

I hear fully synthetic oil is to be used for best maintenance.

We have 93 and 95 RON here...and mix it up...according to Audi dealers in these parts, it ain't a biggy mixing the flow of the two juices...

Thanks for the feedback...I will certainly enjoy her current gauge of power and adjust to her style of driving. When I hit the rebound curve on complete boredom, doubtful anytime soon, I will investigate mod'ding...

Funny thing this...the side rear park light is now always on regardless of how "switched off" the car is...have taken the bulb out for now...will get it sorted this weekend...if anyone has a thought on this, kindly share your knowledge pleesh..

Layder,

Pope
