the problem is you have more police officers than they know what to do with, and then they realize that they have all these freak'n police officers and need to pay them, so, let cite them for everything under the sun, and lots of people.

I was in cleveland for 6 days, and saw three cops. Thats right "3", and I drove on average 50 miles a day. I spot undercover cars well, trust me, only 3 cops.

In fairfax county va, I drive to the grocery store, 1.2 miles away, and will pass 5 cops, with 3 of them who have pulled people over. The washington metro area... SUCKS...

reduce the cops..!

the population density in the Metro Dc area, hell, even in FFX cty, is proly 5x higher than it is in Cleve-land. Of course there are gonna be more cops. The crime rates a more than likely comensurately higher, too. Cleve-land's also a lot more spread out, as a municipality, just to throw the numbers off some more. You're only keying on one aspect, COPS, without taking in all the parameters that factor into how many po-po are available for the road, at any given time.

option b: move to cleveland.

What kind of non-lethal weapons do you carry? Are bean bag shotguns and tear gas paintball guns common?

This information is public from my department so I don't mind answering it. We have a few bean bag shotguns, but VERY few. We mostly carry Tasers, this requires additional training. Also, just like most officers we have OC Spray (pepper spray, but worse). There's always the good ole expandable baton, but that CAN be a deadly weapon unlike the others. Tear gas comes with specialized units so I won't get into that.
One time my brother found a corpse in a field and so we all went into the station to talk to the investigators. It took a long time for all the people that needed to talk to us to get there and finish, so while we waited, some of the officers showed us their equipment. One guy showed me his special paintball gun and told me all about people he'd used it on. Maybe it was OC instead of tear gas in the *****, but it wasn't paint.

Anyway, what do you yourself carry? (if you don't mind sharing, of course) Do you know anyone who has a paintball gun with special ammo?

Also, the investigators took my sandals (for prints near the scene) and never gave them back. It's been over two years. Will I ever see my sandals again?

Oh and since you mentioned tasers, do all the videos people post of people getting tasered do anything to effect how police are trained with them? Has public interest in police use of tasers effected how many are distributed to officers?

Say i was going 145 (cant cuz sold car) but i was racing another car. what would happen and why is street racing so illegal when its one of americas past times. my parents did it and there parents did it and most parents have done it but now cops are doing things to end it.

So was slavery and prohibition, should we bring those back too? You would likely go to jail for wreckless endangerment and get over a dozen tickets. Just take it to the track.

Actually where I work we are always short handed, which is fine with me because I get to stay longer and get paid overtime

Your sandals are probably gone. All I carry is my OC spray. The gun you refer to isa pepper ball gun, we dont have them on our department. I'm glad we don't because I could easily see me being shot with one at the station. We like to mess around alot, often times TOO MUCH.

No not really. Taser is a very effective instrument and everyone we use it on has it coming. Trust me when I tell you it is MUCH better to be tased then sprayed.

I'm sorry, I've got to comment on this one........
This is, without a doubt, one of the most idiotic questions I've EVER seen posted on this forum.

lukinfodat1.8t - you need to read your post again. Then you need to THINK, boy. Why do YOU think that street racing would be illegal? What could happen at a street race that would made the authorities want to prevent such action? Would you think that going 145 on a public street with crowds of people watching from the sides could perhaps be a little DANGEROUS?
.
Perhaps when you become a bit older and have some life experience under your belt, you'll begin to see that there are CONSEQUENCES for risky behaviour such as street racing that should be considered. The most important of those is the risk of injury (or death) to innocent bystanders.
.
RACING belongs on a race track.
/end rant. ty
