Default clutch problem

No not on the audi thankfully. My friend has a mustang, 2002 37k miles. He's coming home last night, getting off the freeway and clutch pedal just sinks to the ground. Cant get it into any gear, can't do anything. Anytime we'd push the clutch down, the pedal would just sink the the floorboard, no tension no nothing. Anybody have any ideas of what broke? Obviously it has to be clutch/tranny but any specific parts that come to mind?

It's probably not the clutch. I am willing to bet it is a leak in the clutch lines or master/slave cylinder. Check the fluid level and if it is empty refill it, pump the clutch and watch under the car for a leak.

Had a problem EXACTLY like that with my Camry, once. Check the brake-fluid resevoir, oddly enough. See if it's low...

I was thinking a loss of fluid somewhere. Thanks for the recommendations.. I'll be sure to check out the brake fluid resevoir too.

yeah the brake fluid is the same as the clutch fluid on our Audi's, but i dunno if 02 mustang's are also like that. but check the fluid and the slave cylinder. its most likely one of those.
