every day use would be to stop any threat of violence towards me.. say for instance, you accidentally cut somebody off, well they follow you, and harass you, and follow you to your house, who knows how dangerous this person is.. they may be irate, the cops may be 10 minutes out, you can always try to talk them down, and use only the force neccesary to deescalate them.. but sometimes that wont work, sometimes the crazy person might want to cause you harm.

Or say for example your walking around the mall with your girlfriend... all of a sudden a crazed lunatic starts popping rounds off at people in the mall.. and you are hunkered down behind a fake plant... he is in the food court on the other side of said fake plant.. you cant make it to the exit..

there are way too many examples of why it is a good thing for a smart/sane person to carry a gun, i just dont think they should allow anyone to carry a gun, they should have to take a psych test, have a full background check done, and maybe something else..

Ohh and just remember if you outlaw guns, only the outlaws will have them

2 men and a Woman where at the FBI Building for a job interview.

The first man walked into the office . The interviewing FBI agent said "To be in the FBI you must be loyal, dedicated, and give us your all. Your wife is in the next room. I want you to go in there and shoot her with this gun." The man took the gun, hesitated, and said "Sorry, I can't do it."

The next interviewee came into the office. The Agent said "To be in the FBI you must be loyal, dedicated, and give us your all. Your wife is in the next room. I want you to go in there and shoot her with this gun." The man took the gun, walked into the room, then walked out. "Sorry," he said.

The last to go was the Woman. The inverviewer said "To be in the FBI you must be loyal, dedicated, and give us your all. Your husband is in the next room. I want you to go in there and shoot him with this gun." The Woman took the gun and went into the room. The Agent heard 6 shots, silence, then a lot of banging and screaming, then more silence. After a couple of minutes the banaging and screaming started up again and continued for a long time. After 15-20 minutes it got quiet, and the Woman finally came out of the room.

She walked up to the FBI agent and said, "Someone loaded the gun with blanks, so I had to beat him to death with the chair!"


If you want to prevent criminals from having useful weaponss, AND reduce drive-bys, ask your congressman to initiate legislation that raises the tax on bullets to $1500.00/EACH... It'll cut down on Police "accidentally" shooting folks, too!!!

 

$1500 a bullet eh? Damn, that would keep me from owning a gun, that's for sure... Good thing I already have a nice supply at the house.

Nah, OWNING a gun would be cheap... FIRING a gun, however, would then be prohibitively EXPENSIVE. If you DID shoot, you bet your *** it'd be something you RILLY wanted to shoot

But seriously.. not everyone in Australia are criminals.. Mostly i think we'd be to lazy to use the guns even if we had them haha. i would. You get more satisfaction from a baseball bat.. I was never into guns and I can't see myself spending $$$ for a pistol. My room mate however, has a permit for his Sig P226...always loaded, just waiting for someone to break in to the house
