im from Cali as most of you know, so it would be VERY hard to get a CCW, although it may be nice to have one in many parts of CA, but luckily i go to school in AZ where i can just walk in to a gun shop (i happen to be a member of the largest indoor shooting range and gun shop in the US) and walk out with a numbe rof weapons. These could very well incld, any number of assault type weapons. The only thing is i currently could be arrested for having a weapon (inclding knives which is bullsh!t) in my dorm room. So once i get an apt or house, i will be getting a 12 gauge shotgun. And prolly a handgun if i can afford to but both.

Another quote taht you guys didnt mention for CCWs is:

Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

Well, after a lot of searching and reading, I purchased my first hand gun and will be taking my classes to conceal January 1st which is when it's effective in Kansas. I bought the gun from a friend of mine who was a Kansas City police officer. It's a police issued Glock .40 caliber with lots of goodies. It has 5 clips, waist holster (it's the holster that locks the gun when you slide it in, so someone can't grab it), 4 boxes of bullets, night sights, conceal carrying case and steel case for storage. It is a really nice gun and I'm really happy with it. I had some concerns about it being a police issued gun but he said there was absolutely no problem with that. It's a pretty powerful gun too. I'll get some pics up later this morning.

LOL. My office is on the 18th floor of a 37 story building, so yes there are plenty of buildings over 5 stories. It's not like the movies make it out to be. Pretty sizeable city.

No grain elevators within 40 miles of where I am. I live in Johnson County which is a pretty nice place. I really wouldn't live anywhere else and yes I have tried. Nice and quiet with plenty to do. Just as long as we keep the Californians out... J/K.

As I hopped across the lily pads in pond on Birch Point Road
A funny little question crossed the mind of this wee toad.

Had I ever really wondered why just anybody should

Want to pack a pistol when they weren't out in the wood?

And what would life be like for you with Colt tucked in your purse

Thinking that you needed it or maybe something worse.

Or did you need a symbol for status or the like

Or maybe to impress some folk that you would like to psyche!

Would you like to live that state of mind where danger lurks in doubt

And our friends in blue aren't good enough to keep the demons out

Where in the minds of everyone we could infuse this trip

And pretty soon we're back in Dodge with six-gun on our hip?

It's an interesting question that has a state of mind

Based on insecure positions that their host alone can find

But we're left to live with all those folk wherever they may be

Whose needs are pumped up high enough to function properly.

So next you walk through Pretty Town on narrow Old Route One

Don't forget that band of triggers that stow away a gun

Let's be sure it's not Police Force or Sheriff they usurp

When they need to play Bat Masterson or maybe Wyatt Earp!
