i tried mine when i first got the car, and it started sliding, good thing i was not under it when it did....... went out next day to get a hydrolic

Man... I was just working under my car and every time I was under there, even with jack stands, it freaked me out! RIP!

Sorry to hear that. I never use that flimsy thing, I use fullsize stands and sometimes as a precaution I put the wheel I take off under the car just in case.

I hear ya man, I have used that poor excuse for a jackstand.The thingbent whenI wascranking it up. I have no idea why VW/Audi would allow anybody to put that in their cars.

why are you working under your car when its on the jack.... thats retarded. you should always take your car off the jack and put it on stands, cause a jack isn't designed to hold a load for an extended period of time

Agreed, although I usually leave the jack under the car as well, with just a little pressure on it - that way, if either a stand or the jack fails, there's a backup.

i was just using mine to check a tire........ i have been stranded in company vehicles with just factory jacks and had them fall...... i just didn't have a hydrolic at the time


and this was some guy on vortex that died, you guys are talking like it was me that the story is about

I actually carry a low profile floor jack and jack stands in my trunk.. people look at me funny but hey.. its worth it
