Default Flooded Car - Finally Over...

Well, the situation is finally coming to an end with my flooded Honda. My insurance company won't total the car but we figured out what we are going to do. They have estimated the damages at the moment to be $6500 bucks. That's without a diagnostic check. They are doing that this weekend. $6400 is just for the interior water damage. The insurance company has offered to pay whatever the final total is which could be well over $6400 by the end of the weekend. They have also found a salvage company that will buy the car as is for $6000. The insurance company will cut me a check for the damages and then I can sell the car to the salvage company. It is the same as totalling the car only the insurance company is only losing the repair cost instead of the full price of the car. I have agreed and will finally get this thing over with by Monday and get my money!! This has been such a nightmare. I am also moving my insurance to the company I have worked for the past 4 years. I work for by far the best insurance company in the world and I get a 20 percent discount which makes it about the same price as regular insurance. We are extremely over priced. I'm sure a lot of members or parents of members are our customers. The coverage is better than anyone and I'm also moving my homeowners as well. If anyone has SAFECO insurance, move it immediately. Their claims service is terrible and you don't want to deal with them. They are a company that is drowning and trying to cut corners any way they can.

Sorry for the ramble but a ton of bricks has been lifted off of me now. The weekend is going to be so relaxing.

Never heard of Chubb. I'm with USAA, and they are pretty awesome (for an insurance company).

Glad to hear your troubles are coming to an end.
