I've had more than one knife pulled on me, I've had my van broken into three times, once while I was in it, once by guy who was probably on meth who thought that "Medical Laser" on the side of my van means "Drug Transport Vehicle." The last time I drew my weapon was when some ******** trucker decided it would be hilarious to try to run me and my lady off the road. F*cking ******* deserved a bullet through the head. Anyone who carries a gun tells you the same exact thing: it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. It's not even just people, ever taken a walk in a state park? A can of pepper spray is going to be really effective against a rabid animal, let me tell you.

Preparedness is not paranoia.

Why the need for the pocket carrying type of weapon. Hell you are in a 3 thousand pound car. Simple hit the gas, He came at you with a weapon. you "Accidentally" protect yourself with your car.

Clearly a person who has not driven through lovely/scenic South East DC particularly the Anacostia region or Baltimore/NYC/LA etc. YES the US AND ANY COUNTRY IS THAT BAD. You can be in bum F Idaho, Ontario Canada, whereverit does not matter. Crazy jackasses are everywhere. They dont care what time of day, where they are, or what the consequences may be. I find your statement to be F'ing rediculous. In this country we have the right to bear arms because we recognize the fact that people are insane. You can be anywhere and get shot for NO REASON. Are the chances of that slim, yes depending on your area. But I will share this much. Every day, even if I am off duty. I have my glock, my H and K back up, tac knife, and my M4 assault rifle with me or in my vehicle. Why? because the one time I don't may be the one time I need them. In the end if I am on a road trip in the most beautiful peaceful city in the nation, when ******** comes from nowhere to take my car or hurt me/my friends with me, I'm sending him 15 nasty surprises to his chest and head.
