But what though? Whats so much better about a stream of air rather than a plain old projection screen? Even if the price droped 50% would you be willing to spend 10 grand on this when 5 will get you a 10x better picture? By the time it would be cheaper and other systems such as plasma will be extremely cheap too. Also, more than likely something new thats actually a real improvement will be introducted.
computers in the 70's could cost anywhere from 50-100K for a very basic simple machine. in the 80's it was 5-10K and you would only get 20MB of hard drive and it could barely do anything. in the 90's price cut to about half and speed shot way the hell up. now in the 21st century, only 10 years after PC's were like running at 200MHz and 600MB of harddrive computers cost a couple hundred bucks and run insanely faster. Technology is speeding up faster and faster and if the computer cut to 1/500th the cost it was not too long ago then why would these things cost 10k in 10 years? if our generation has shown anything its that things end up being cheaper and better wit time.

That's only cause you're not cool enough to want to bang a stream of air.

only in AF.....[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

The ultimate goal would be to produce a projector that does not require that box blowing air, or to use that box of air to create a real 3-D image. But you have to start somewhere and all that research cost $$. What better place to get lots of $$ than rich snobs ?
