Default 2003 Audi RS6 Avant

My search is over! I have found my ideal project car: 2003 Audi RS6 Avant.

Problem: As far as I know, they never brought the car to the US market; at least, I haven't found any.

I am asking for your combined input, opinions, suggestions, pitfalls (complications, cost, etc.) on the options that I can see (and add others IYO):

a) Find a RS6 sedan donor car, and a clean, good S6 Avant (?) and merge the 2

b) Find a clean, good S6 Avant with the 4.2, upgrade the engine as needed (internals, intake), add turbos; upgrade suspension, chassis and brakes to the desired power level (400-500 whp).

c) Find a clean, good S6 Avant and gather upgrade parts in Germany and bring them over.

d) Find a clean, good RS6 Avant in Germany, bring it over and get it titled.

From another of your threads, it seems you went for the RS6 avant. The good news is that many of the rear RS6 Avant parts and S6 Avant (2002, 2003 in the US) parts are the same. So getting them shouldn't be a problem.

There are specific things in the RS6 that aren't in the S6, e.g. battery in the boot, if it is like the Saloon. Which you wouldn't get parts for. Of course the bumper and related parts are different too, but lights, body panels etc. should be the same. Hopefully no one will rear end you.

The RS6 actually has a little longer engine bay to accomodate the turbos. You wouldn't have been able to simply take out the engine from the RS6 and put it in the S6. So you have a very rare car, especially in the US.

Have fun, and enjoy your vehicle.

I wish. I was discouraged by the issue involved in importing a car (officially).
Only way I see is get junk donor chassis that looks close to the RS6 Avant (maybe an allroad), then take all decals that show model, VIN, year, etc off the car and slap them onto a RS6 Avant to get it titled. Likely, no one will do a close check. But also need a story in case someone asks questions.

I am now back to an Allroad manual (to handle the power) as the base for the project, and may settle for wider, lower, faster and 'de-allroading' the exterior (fender extensions in body color). The 2.7TT can be brought to life (500 hp).
