RS4 Software upgrades for HP
Well after hearing talk of a incoming flash upgrade that will take hp to 500+ i emailed APR Tuning to ask whats available and this is what i got
{Hi Rich
Thanks for the enquiry.
There are no ECU upgrades that will give that kind of improvement that I am
aware of.
Being a normally aspirated engine I would imagine it would be impossible.
We have one upgrade for the ECU that will give about 20KW and 20nm
increase. The software is from DMS Automotive in the UK. It is not a flash
upgrade however.
We are also waiting on APR and Oettinger to finish off their software which
will be flashable with similar increase.
Please let me know if I can help you further.

so 20Kw =25 ish HP so it would then become 329Kw/450nm/445Hp
but i dont like the idea of playing with the car and the warrenty...

Any car w/o some type of forced induction will only gain 18-25hp at the crank. Now if you gain about 20hp from the ecu, intake, and exhaust that would be 60hp improvement... not bad!
I am willing to bet that there will very little available in the aftermarket that will markedly increase the output of the RS4 engine (short of forced induction). It seems like Audi and its engineers pulled out most of the stops on this one in an effort to produce something that could run with (possibly beat) an M3.
A similar example is the Honda S2000...that motor (like the RS4) generates 100 hp per liter, and despite a large number of vendors offering their snake oils to "bump output 10%", very few have produced anything but negligible gains.
I'm not saying that additional power cannot be gleened from an RS4, but I would not be holding my breath for a chip, intake or exhaust that is going to yield 80+ hp.
IMHO, FWIW...

possibly run with an M3...have you looked any of this up...It DOMINATES an M3 and looks much better doing it, and is a better daily driver, and its 10000% more rare!!

but i think you guys are right about it being hard to squeeze that much more power with simple intake/exhaust/software changes... i would think more of 30-40 more hp total with the intake, exhaust and reflash
