Sunroof delete on 2008 RS4?
I know the 2007 RS4 had a sunroof delete "option" and have noticed that many of the 2007 RS4's used in road tests and comparisons don't have a sunroof. Is this available on the 2008 models? I don't see why not, but I haven't seen any without sunroofs and the "Build your Audi" website does not have this option like it did for the 2007 car. (edit - it does now)
BTW does anyone know how much longer you can place orders for the current car? thanks.

I would not know what your options are today if you show up at the dealer, but my 2008RS4 is withoutsunroof.
Keep trying, it is well worth the three month wait to get one without sunroof, I simply do not understand why so many want this useless hole in the roof, reasons being as following:
- Useless at speed above 50 miles/hour (noise)
- You loose head room in the cabin
- Why drag around additional20 to 30 lbs positionedin the worst possibleplace off them all
- If you want sun in your face and wind in your hair, go for aconvertible or roadster
Concerning your last question, I am not sure, but guess you better get to the dealer ASAP
Good lock and looking forward to hear the result

Hey there.
I received my RS4 Avant 4 weeks ago, and I especially ordered it with the sunroof (it costs in Europe) and I have to disagree.
To me the weight isn't that big a deal. I don't drive the car on track and try to make some records. In normal use the sunroof is very nice thing to have giving much light in the quite dark cabin. And it's more fun to drive during summer roof open than windows opened and here the symphony coming from the car.
I'm over 6'5" long and there's still plenty of room between the roof and my head.
But alltogether it's a matter of taste, if the car is for normal use only.
Enjoy your great car with or without the roof. It's one heck of a car...

Hi Tim
Me and my cars (Ups, I forgot my wife)arein SoCal, even yes, I am from Scandinavia (Denmark) originally, but that is some years ago now. Anyway, one of theadvances being here in the states is the prices of cars. In Denmark the same car (RS4 Sedan)would cost close to USD 300000.- (no joke!, check www.audi.dk) due to goverment taxes, so Audi fans here in the states should not complain!
Just checked audi.dk, the RS4 Sedan is not available any more, which couldmean that the production has stopped, not sure but you better get to the dealer to find out now if you still want to realize your dream there!
Jarkko
I congratulate you with your RS4 Avant, as you proberbly have heard, we can not get the RS4 as Avant here in the states, so we will have to do with the Sedan or Cabriolet. The Avant would have been my choice if it was available here, but.....
Wish you both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Update:
Ordered car w/o sunroof a couple weeks ago. I'm stoked to join the ranks. Avus Silver with the titanium package and carbon fiber trim. I really like the titanium package black accents around the windows and grill, but am a little unsure about the titanium wheels with the silver car. I think it should be fine. If not, I'll use the titanium wheels for winter tires (and track day tires
and get aset of the standard silver wheels for the summer tires.

Hi Tim
Happy to hear that you are planningto join us.
Well, Titanium or not is your call, butone thingyou willappriciate is, that the break dust is far from as viseble on the Titanium rims as the silver colouredrims, they are anyway not the easiest to clean, guess I spend nearly the same time on the four rims as I do on the car itself.
You take care and look forward to hear the outcome.

Hey Guys,
I have the titanium package on my Daytona Grey 08 RS4 and it looks great in my opinion. I also saw a Avus silver RS4 with the Titanium package at my delaer ship and and I love it! Welcome to the RS Club you won't regrete your decision.
