Default 00' s4 question

Found a 00' s4 with 91k for 14,900. Looks good from the pics, but havn't seen it in person. I do intend on having audi inspect it. What do you guys think?

Looks like a decent price for that. I'd be careful about the turbos though. Keep in mind if they go you are talking about a very expensive job.

well its 4 hours from me and I am in the debate of whether to get an 01 a4 for the same price, but with only 42k miles. Only thing is it isn't the sport package so it looks kinda bland.

is the s4 worth it?

Keep in mind you have the timing belt to replace at 105k miles.

I have a 59k mile S4 for sale (located in Tampa)...so you won't have to worry about any large maintenance items like the timing belt or turbos for a while...

Let me know if you have an interest.

an S4 upwards on the miles is asking for expensive maintanence. If you're willing to take that risk, it is at an excellent price. If you had the money you could upgrade the turbos and just do the normal timing belt etc. right away so you dont have to worry about those types of problems.

If you are nervous about the maintanence, don't get it. Get a newer or lower mileage A4. But for $14k, you should be able to do better than an '01 A4 at 45k miles. My '00 was 60k miles and costed me $10k. the extra $4k would be enough to make my car faster than a stock S4 by a good bit.

by the way, awesome porsche in your avatar!

If you can do most of the maintanence yourself then it's a good buy. I bought my 00 for $12,500 with 106K on the clock but I plan on pulling the motor myself to do all the upgrades.

yes have it inspected..my mechanic @ Champion Racing sent me a list of things to check when at 90k miles!:

(some are superficial but ensure maximum performance/ safety)

obviously oil change/ filter replacement
check shift and clutch interlock
brake system - check
cooling system - check level
exhaust system - check
OBD - check DTC memory
W/W system - check, add fluid
Tire pressure
Dive shafts - check boots
Check engine for leaks
front end- check dust seals, ball joints, tie rod ends
transmission - check for leaks
Trans final drive - check lubricant
Replace dust/pollen filter
lubricate sliding roof rails
replace spark plugs

I have additional mantenance schedules for different mileages (5, 10, 20, ...120K miles)
...u can pm me for the full list or i can post it
