05 AUDI S4 CLUTCH PROBLEMS
I just bought my 05 s4 used w/ 18k miles and I have to do a clutch allready. I was driving one night switching from 2nd to 3rd and couldn't get it into gear i tried other gears and still nothing. I pulled over and noticed my clutch was stuck to the floor, and tight as hell. I managed to get it home and then towed to Audi.Thats ok because i am sure some idiot learned to drive manual on my car, i have excepted that allready i have also excepted that audi is robbing me $2300 to put a new clutch kit in. But its been 2 weeks and nothing! they installed allmost everything new that has to do w/ the clutch-pres plate, clutch, slave cyl. master cyl. lines hoses, i dont know what else, they can't figure it out, they have now started to do a "process of elimination" hmm. lets try this part uhhh! no didnt work.....next. I am loosing my. patience! can anyone help me here????[:@]

wow.... i would be pissed.... and demand all work after the 2300 to be on the shop.... they should have given you a quote and stick to it.... not play proccess of elimination with your car until they get it right at your expense.... i probably wouldn't be pissed... i would be furious!
and your problem.....it almost sounds like it could be linkage or something.... did you smell burnt clutch? were there any sighns of slipping? if there weren't it's most likely the linkage or the actual trany.... check the oil in the tranny.... could be low or have a leak..... or there in NO oil in it.....
............... sure am curious now though.... keep us posted

If the clutch is stickin to the floor pop it back up and pump it up until it goes away, if it doesent. bleed the system. I just finished a clutch job on an '05 S4 Avant today. absolutly awesome car. try bleeding the system, How is the throw bearing in the trans? and is the slave cylinder melted?
Well after 18 days after they installed all new lines, 2 slave cycl. 1 master cyl. 2pressure plates, 2 flywheels, 2 clutches. I did make an appearance to the shop one weeknd and the clutch and flywheel were shot. Which i dont know what idiot b4 me do to this car to burn a clutch at 18k. After they were juggling $3500 bucks to warranted Back and forth. I call Audi of North america and they were of no help. They made calls all this time but the director of maintinance was out on vaction for 2 wks.hmmm!! sure. So i finally was told what the problem was, they ordered the wrong flywheel and this was causing the pedal to be hard. So they ordered a new flywheel the right!! one and tadaraaaa!!! it worked. In the end they didnt charge me for the fly wheel so discounted me $1000. I picked the car up it had grease all over it, not washed and......... my biggest pet peave was they left 2 gashes in my bumper, from the left headlight to the lower fog light grill. its terrible. Not like a scratch its engraved in. But obviously it was an Noreaster here in NY so i didnt see till the next day. I called audi of america screamed them out some more and they called the director who then called me. I told him about the 18 days-no loaner-a the gashes. He told me he will look at the invoice and get bat to me. I recieved 3 days later a refund for $297.67 woooo hooo!!! not even a even $300. So i am still waiting for Audi of America to call me back with some other type of compensation. Which i asked for: either fufill my total of $2500 or extend my warranty. So we will see i will keep you all updated!!![:@]
was it an approved used car when you purchased it?
and wtf? if you're a mechanic for audi you do not go through that kind of maintainence and not know what the problem is, it should have been obvious, they should have taken out the flywheel and checked for warpage and wear, not to mention the way it sounds like this douche was driving before you, there would be obvious marks and scratches on them, too. that's just ******* rediculous and unprofessional imo, i can't believe what dumbasses become mechanics now-a-days. i honestly believe they were just ******* with you. if i were you, find a reputable shop that focuses on imported european cars (most major cities have one or two), they are usually more personal and PASSIONATE about what they work on and will give you a straight up answer

That is definately bogus! People are just so ignorant these days and don't give a sh*t about anything. That really surprises me that an Audi tech would be that careless. I would think those guys go through some training cause they aren't working on cheap junk. And the fact that Audi of america wouldn't stand up and treat you well makes me not want to own an Audi. Good luck with trying to get more out of em.
I just bought a B6 S4..... hopefully my clutch doesn't go out soon because i don't feel like dealing with all that B.S......
........
but yeah...seriously... it's Audi! ..... not Kia....... you definetly deserved much better service.... i would fill out the survey.... tell them how it is...
good luck

I was going to buy a stick shift B6 S4 until I started hearing about clutch problems and the $2500 cost to replace one. I scored a beautiful 04' Tip car and I love it. I still have my TT when I want to play with the gears and left pedal.
