Default 2.7 manual /automatic

Do you guys know if the 2.7 motor is universal with a automatic or manual.

yea..the engine can go with both...you would just need to replace the entire trans. but it will go with the conversion. i had a friend convert auto to manual and it cost him 2000...car runs better in man cause i own auto...but their both still fun

it goes either way. both bolt up the same, and each have their own ecus.

answer is yes, but a lot of the time you're better off selling your car and just buying one with a manual if your thinking of a conversion.

i have never heard of a car manufacturer building a different version of the same engine just for an auto or manual option, it would cost millions in manufacturing considering the amount of units produced annually. but if you're interested in doing such a conversion, make it worth while, i.e. I have seen an RS6 with a B5 RS4 transmission swap or even heard of a few A6's swapping to S4 drivetrains.
