Default 2000 S4 Brake light concern:

On a 2000 S4...
The BRAKE light on the dash comes on occassionally, and the chime goes off. It happens about every 5-10mins for about 30secs.
Any ideas what it might be trying to tell me, or what might be bad?
I'm about to pick up this S4, but do not want it if it has ABS problems or any other major brake problem.[/align]

I am getting the car for a very good price, otherwise I wouldn't be buying it at all.

Check the brake fluid, if it's low, then put some in. Usually if it's the ABS controller, the ABS light also goes on.

It's been suggested that it could be something as simple as the Emergency Brake sensor maybe needing adjustment or replacement. Does that sound feasible to you guys?

Yea, it can be a faulty e-brake switch. Next time you drive it, pull the e-brake JUST enough that the light comes on, then wiggle around the area & see if the lights goes out at all.
