Hey,

New to the site new to audi... not new to cars. I am 18 and I just sold my 3rd saab, it was a 1999 Saab viggen with stage 3 and close to 300 HP. I sold it to get a 2001 Audi S4. anyway I will be picking the car up soon and just wanted some advice from you all here. I am sure this car is quite a bit different than my saab so what mods do you all reccomend doing first? First of all I am installing a DVD/nav system... I Was going with eclipse but wanted to ask if anyone knows of a better brand or a brand that works better with the audi? I have been looking for performance sites the last few days but all I have been able to find is APR, what are some other good performance sites and who is the best?

anything else you can think of... I would love to know about it... tips for first time audi buyers... anything.

seems like your the only one who responds to post around here.... I have been reading but no one has yet to answer my questions.

 

not to familier with the aftermarket navigation but for tuning APR is a very good tuner for these cars u might also want to look at GIAC and if you have a ton of cash you want to spend and want a lot of power check out awe tuning for the K04 set up they have for these cars lots of money but lots of power too

 

so whats the deal, people say that GIAC is more cutting edge and more expensive but it seems to be the same price as APR and APR seems to offer alot more FTLBS... so why does everyone say GIAC is better? also do any tuning companies have stange quarks? I know maptun tuning for saab takes 3-4 months to tune a chip for you... are any of the audi companies like this?

also im assming that awe tuning is just the dealer for GIAC correct?

 

Yes AWE is a GIAC dealer and I never waisted my money on just getting the chip I just went ahead and did the turbo upgrade from AWe but mind you I don't have a S4 either haha just a A4 but from what i've heard the GIAC is a more aggressive chip I know that the APR offer more power but I guess you just don't feel it as much and the turn around time is ushally only 3 days
