Looking for some advice on a mechanical noise coming from the climate control. It starts shortly after starting the engine. its more distinct in the engine compartment at or near the firewall than inside the car. It will stop briefly and restart about 5 seconds later.

The only control setting that will stop it is when both temperature settings are set to "LO". This is not conducive to happy driving in the tail end of a long winter.

I don`t want to start dismantling anything without some idea of where to look and what could be the problem
. Nor do I want to delay either . Any suggestions?
