Default 2002 S4 ESP Light & Power Loss

I am having an issue with power loss from 1st gear to 2nd gear (between 4k and 6k rpm's). I noticed that when I get the loss of power the ESP light flashes on for a second. Seems like this only happens during hard acceleration from 1st to 2nd (Tip). After that, everything seems to be fine.

I have checked all of my hoses and don't believe it is any kind of boost leak.

Anyone else have an issue with ESP cutting off power during hard acceleration? Is there something faulty that would cause this? I don't believe I am getting any wheel spin...

Thanks - Dave

That is what ESP is SUPOSE TO DO, it is detecting wheel spin, & cutting throttle.

Thanks guys. For months I thought I had a problem because I didn't realize what the warning light was for ESP. I guess I will have to get comfortable with hitting the ESP button if I plan a hard run...

even if the light isnt really coming on..if youre trying to get on the throttle, its best to turn it off as it wont be as responsive with it on...
