2004 S4 bad....2005 S4 good??? confused
Hey there, hope i didnt scare you with the heading but I was looking on internetautoguide.com and all the reviews for the 2004 S4's are poor rating and the 2005 have an above average rating? does anyone know why this is that way. same with the A4 models. Is there soemthing mechanical upgrade that happened in 2005 that made the S4 that much better. I know that the model looks the same and there appears to be know significant changes that ive heard. I'm going to be purchasing a 2004 or 2005 model so I'd really like to hear from some other's that can confirm that there's no difference besides the year. what's the deal with that rating? don't beleive me, then check it out at internetautoguide.com.
Also, does anyone know where I can get better reviews and ratings for Audi's. I guess i'll keep checking this forum and google searching.
thanks, take care,

Both are bad, but a B5! haha jk.
But seriously.
Anyways. Edmunds is a prettty nonbiased site that tells you how it is. I don't think there is much difference and it might be hard to search in here. go to audiworld. Prob more info over there.
I hear in 3rd gear they are monsters! lol
goodluck!

According to the APR site:
There are a few mechanical changes, such as revised springs and dampers and, for model years 2008 and later, an updated center differential featuring a 40:60 torque split on manual transmission models. The new "corporate" single-frame grill, narrow bi-xenon headlamps with curve illumination, "L" tail-lamps and quad exhaust tips help distinquish the B7 from the previous B6 model.

Thanks guys, i've looked at reveiws at Edmunds and there doesnt seem to have that same rating. far as I can tell they are the exact same but id thought id just bring up that website. I really want a Naguro 2004 or 05 s4!!! I can't wait to join the club, there's a lot of useful information on this forum. thanks again guys!
are you talking literally the difference between 04 and 05 ..or 04/05 vs. 05.5+..
i believe there are many differneces in the 05.5 platform... as yess4 explained...
as far as an 05 compared to 04... i dont think too much is different..they may have a few very minor issues worked out in an 05..but prob not too much.
the 04 may have some harder ratings because of it being a first model year of that platform..those will usuallly have the most bugs...the later runs in the platform production should be better...
and yes edmunds is prob your best bet
