Default 2008 S4 After Market Approach

Picked up Millitek cat back exhaust for my 08 S4 and love it. My endpoint is to pickup the DP's, high flow cats and get a chip/tuning. Any input as to what I can expect in terms of SOUND, HP and torque from these modifications? Also need some advice on the order in which to proceed. First DP's/HF cat, then tuning? Or tuning now- which may be all I need for a year or so until I can more easily absorb the cost of the exhaust modification.
Also open to suggestions that I may not have thought of, irrespective of cost.. Thanks for input as always!

Milltek downpipes first, then see whats on the market for 4.2 tuning even if its a year down the road. It will be loud and sexy. Sounds like this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y-i2ePDqbM theres a million more on you tube. You will get more power especially with the full exhaust AND chip, but one of the main benefits is the faster throttle response. If its a manual get a shortshifter, might make it more fun to drive

The plan is downpipes I guess- you and the dealer both agree... apparently the difference in sound is immediately apparent- and the sound of this car is incredibly addictive .. Shortshifter is what I forgot to seriously consider.. Nice call.

suggestions on a tuner or should I wait? i know there is an APR guy around here, and another tuning company (name?) that frequents my dealership (palm beach FLA). Know very little about the process to be honest but am eager to learn about it... For the time being however, I am on the hunt for sound. Profound, exquisite, agressive sound... I could go on and on.. But millitek has me almost there. performance is excellent, but I have room to go in the sound dept..

Thanks again.

You didn't mention suspension so not sure if you've done anything there yet. I'd strongly suggest a rear swaybar if you don't have one already. Relatively cheap (~$250) and it makes a big difference in handling.

Sways are a good inexpensive performance mod. Coilovers would lower it and make it look and handle better too, but they are pretty pricey.

Theres not a ton of difference between the chips, or at least nothing thats obvious when driving. I think Vast performance or a custom tune would be my choice, but APR GIAC and others are great too

Thanks for responses. will complete exhaust upgrade, may lower suspension and put in a chip in a few months or later. sway bar would be a nice inexpensive touch that i can do sooner than later. this is all solid info.

with regard to exterior styling, which is important (but not as important to me as sound and feel):

i love the mesh grille of the rs4.. i have been researching replacing current grille, possibly rear carbon fiber diffuser as well.. does the rs4 grille fit the s4? Also wondering about the possible issue of desecrating the S4-RS4 exterior dynamic and philosophy. If the grill is obtainable, am I crossing a line here? don't mean to sound paranoid, just being respectful.
