2012 S4 B8 questions
Hello all, recently (less than 2 months?) received the S4 I'd ordered over the summer - 2012 Prestige, Sportdiff, Nav, 6-speed (of course). I've installed a Stratmosphere short thow shifter as well (only took 1 hr 45 and two stops to the bay to do the 30 minute job <sigh>).
Couple of questions (this is a US Spec vehicle, but I'm in Europe) -
1) Back up camera. It looks like the back up camera is installed, but not activated (? is this possible?). The dealer (who is not an Audi dealer, but more of a 'to the military' US Spec vehicle dealer) said that sorting out the camera is something I'll need to do with the dealer when I get the car back to the states - problem is I don't expect to be going back to the states anytime soon - anything I can do to sort it out myself?
2) GPS - I am guessing getting the European maps sorted is still a lost cause as Audi refuses to provide support (I know it can be done for a bunch of money and headache). The GPS says it sees 8 satellites - but as the maps are north american... any recent fixes that have come up?
3) Adjusting for tire size. Just put my winter tires and wheels on (18") to replace the summer only tires (19"s) is there a way to go into the computer and tell it there is a new tire size?
4) Lastly - and tangently (which means it should probably go in its own post and not in the S forum) - there are bunches of performance chips available for increasing HP/Torque. Is there any reason why one couldn't, and has anyon heard of anyone who has?, programmed start/stop into the computer to improve fuel economy? It seems to me if the car can figure out it's moving and disable the video on the DVD accordingly, with a push-button start, it should be able to chip the car for start/stop fuel savings.
Thanks

I can only address your last point - start/stop needs to be designed into the car and requires a lot of specialized parts to keep from killing the starter from overuse, clogging the cats from repeated startup, mods to the fueling system, and killing the battery. It's not something that can be added electronically in any way.
