235, 245?
I am currently in the market for some new tires and wheels. Not only are my wheels rashed to hell and back from the previous owner, my tires are pretty thrashed.
I really want to throw on some wider tires. I was hoping for 245s but I think that might be too big.
My hopeful reality is 235/45/17. I was recently tipped off to a site that has crazy good prices for wheel and tire bundles. I packaged a 07 S4 bundle by accident and saw the sizes... I am super tempted.
Two questions: With my current setup, which is stock; will I be able to run 235s? Will I be able to still run these tires if I drop my ride?

Yes you can run that size in a wheel/tire package. That's exactly what I have right now (235-45-17 tires on 17x8 wheels), and it fits fine - no rubbing, no hitting the suspension parts when turning the wheels, no issues whatsoever. The wheels/tires do fill the width of the wells better than OEM-sized wheels/tires, but they're still inside the lip of the fender, so even with a lowered suspension, you should be fine. The main thing you want to do is to spec the offset correctly (around +35) so that the wheels aren't sticking too far out. If they do, that's what'll cause tire rub when you drop the car (or bottom out the suspension).
Go ahead and check out edgeracing.com, they have some amazing deals with some pretty sick wheels.
HPaddict: It looks like your car is totally dumped. What kind of drop do you have?
Upstate: Thanks! Thats exactly what I was looking for.
