Ok here the deal, my abs kicks in everytime im coming to a stop. ive taken all the abs sensors out and cleaned them, replaced one because it broke. No abs light on dash. everything works as it should while starting the car. light on (selftest) the light off.
ive been told it might be the teethed ring on the axle but how can i figure out which one?
I was told i can log this with vag which i tried doing but i really dont know how, but i gave it a shot and now i need help reading the result.

i can have a local shop change the rings on the axle for $50 each but i dont want to do em all if i dont have to. Thanks

ok can anyone tell me how to find the abs sensor that is triggering the antilock system using vag-com?

 

i got nothing from that log. what you need to do is graph all four wheels. the graph is color coded, then when you come to a stop the one that is bad will glitch out and you should see an obvious dip. if you dont then you have a faulty abs module or something. theres info all over this place about getting rebuilt modules and such....

 

ok i have had a bad abs unit before on my a4 1.8t, and this is not that. no lights on just abs triggering.

as for the vag system, im guessing i go to the abs brake block, then meas. block 8 right?
then it has 3 rows with numbers or channels, anything i need to do here? or just start and drive and see what comes up on the graph when i stop?

 

Please let me know if you figure it out because my car does the exact same thing. Do you hear a relay clicking down near the hood release area?

 

i can hear the abs pump activating, even when im not on the brakes. i know for sure the toothed ring on the left rear axle is broken so ima go and get that fixed but i wanted to check if any other rings might be bad so i can fix it all and get it over with, not have to go back to the shop a few days later to redo it all over again.
