ABS question tough question for a pro.
Ok car had CEL ABS and ESP lights all on..... When i dropped it off back to the shop they told me... Bad o2 sensor which was replaced....bad purge valve? which i guess since has been resolved at the shop..... But now with the abs... I guess the ABS unit is not being recognized through the cars computer. They say that the abs doesnt recognize the speed that the car is going and needs to be replaced..... Well either way i just wanted to hear some other answer or opinions on what u think is going on here. After replacing o2 sensor the all the light were still on...
Car has also been running in safe mode for quite sometime now. and when driving the car the ABS doesnt work nor does the traction control, found that out in the show before i came back to school in mid march.

Well the traction control works off of the wheel speed sensors as well. If you have a bad wheel speed sensor the abs won't work, light would be on, and the traction control wouldn't work. If you have access to a vagcom you can check to make sure the abs module/pump is the right one for the car and that all the coding on it is correct.
yea i guess thats what they did, they ran VAGCOM and couldnt even recognize the ABS unit through the computer.... so assuming that the ABS unit is bad... thats where they are starting.... sound rihgt to you guys?
The first thing I would do is make sure there is a communication signal between the abs control module and pcm by physically checking for reading on wires if there is the ability for them to communicate then yes it is possible the abs module went bad. Without more info or the car that is hard to diagnose but seemingly they would be on right track. Good luck cause that might get spendy
The ABS controller is a known failure point. There is a guy who can fix them cheap, but I don't have his info. Yes, it can be a sensor, but you would be able to contact the control module.
For the limp mode did they also test the DV's & do a boost leak test?

Yea i need a boost leak test done badly. the dv's are fine i just checked them, they are Baileys with only like 15k on them.
I hope i got none of the PITA boost leaks.
I hope i got none of the PITA boost leaks.
maybe TBB could be boost leak. I have ABS codes on mine and it says something about uneven road service, and i think speed... what you all think, search google and they have rebuilt ABS modules for like 150-200 bucks
I also replaced the TBB with samco a while back so im pretyt sure its not that one either.... i bet its gonna be liek some random as coupler or hose thats gonna be the biggest PITA to tighten or replace.....Maybe its time for a full SAMCO hsoe kit
