I noticed today that when i have my windshield wipers on. there is a ticking sound coming from around the left side of my dash. Is something starting to go bad? I hadn't noticed the sound from before today.

 

Maybe a relay sticking?

Only when your wipers are on?

If so, do they act normal?

 

Wiper delay relay?

 

The wipers function exactly as they did before. There is a faint tick when it begins its upward stroke and a louder tick when it come down to the beginning position.

The ticking also only sounds when the wipers are on the variable speed setting. If raised to the second level the sound only sounds on the first rise and the last fall.

 

The Delay relay is getting old...

 

Where might i find a replacement wiper delay relay?

 

Worst case just go to the dealer.

Try opening the hood and stick your head near the firewall and see if it gets louder under there.

If it does then its probably not the relay.
