Audi S4 Intake Y-Pipe Identification??
Hello. I am new to the forum but have been reading the posts for months now...
I al looking to buy a B5 Audi S4 in the Northeast. Prefer Manual, Silver exterior with mileage between 40K and 65K. Found a car in New York but under the hood is scary to say the least. Can't figure out this Y-Pipe. Anyone know? I looked everywhere and just can't find one that looks like this (black).
Any input would be appreciated. The rest of the car looks great with 49K miles. Does have a metal gear shift ball. Being sold by a dealer and I don't think they know the background. Look like a motor transfer or jsut some aftermarket work?
Thanks - Dave

RE: Audi S4 Intake Y-Pipe Identification??
Little strange though...Don't you think? I am woundering if there was a little fire under the hood. Seems like every bit of plastic is gone. I guess the hoses would really be toast in a fire. Seems like the driver side intake hose is a little yellowish...??
This is the best car I can find for the price but I just can't get past under the hood. Seems to be some story there...

Stock Y pipe with the paint taken off. I highly doubt there was a fire. There would be other damage, like smell, & melted parts. It just looks like some one removed the covers & never put them back. You can pick them up used for like $50.
