Background....02 S4 70K and would like to keep it for another 70K. I was recently at the dealer for a free inspection and they said the front pads needed to be replaced. One week later the brake warning light came on (go figure).My question is...should I replace thepads and rotars or just the pads as they recommended? I've always thought it was best to do both butdon't want to spend the cash if I don't need to but also don't want tohave to replace the rotars 20K from now either. (AndNO the dealership will not be doing the work) Thanks....

 

just replace pads only and you be fine.....thats what i did

 

You have to measure the rotor thickness, is it's in spec, don't replace them. If they are to thin, then they need to be replaced.
