auxillary water pump for 01 S4, cost?
I got a quote today for replacing the auxillary water pump since it is leaking at a cost of 417. Is this normal? Should I also ask him to do anything else while he's got it apart? It's got 65,000 miles. C'mon guys am I getting jipped? This guy comes highly recommended and says the intake manifold must be removed and should take 3-4 hours total.
If your talking about the water pump underneet Intake. I did repalce mine last year
& i didn't took off the intake. I did took off TB, Prestone canister and did a little contorsion
but it took me 1-2 hours to do it + a couple of cuts on my hands. BTW im not
a mechanic. As far as i can remember the pump itself was selling 200-250$ range which
is a theft considering the simplicity of the thing (It's typically AUDI).
Try to find yourself a Mech with small hands, you'll save some $$$
