This is a question to anybody who has installed this short shifter on their B5 S4. I am currently installing it onto my 2001.5 S4 and the instructions says to retain the old plastic pivot ball since its a 6spd. I really want the smooth shifting feel of the anodized aluminum pivot ball, so is there a way I can use the pivot ball even if my car is 6 spd? I know that reverse probably won't work, but is there a way to easily modify it so that the reverse is not push down?
