b5 s4 6spd flywheel specs
Ok...ive got my southbend kevlar disc in and i just got my rs4 pressure plate and im getting ready to pull the tranny...my question is...is it a must to cut the flywheel...and if so...im gonna have to cut both levels on the flywheel...the pressure plate bolt on surface as well as the actual clutch to flywheel surface...so what is the spec? how much distance is there to be between the two levels? ive searched and cant find it...thanks a lot...
when you say cut you mean resurface? If so there is no real spec. You just have to cut enough off to remove the glaze. If you dont know a place or dont know how to vast sells resufaced flywheels with a core deposit for a good price and it comes with the fly wheel bolts and a new pilot bearing I believe. http://vastperformance.com/shop/prod...products_id=60
no.. i can resurface the flywheel, but because there are two steps.. the actual surface and then where the pressure plate sits, i thought that you possibly had to machine both surfaces so that the clutch would not have too much pressure or not enough... if the distance between the two areas do not matter and i dont have to take any off the pressure plate resting area then i will just do the flywheel myself..
