need to vag it brother, that way you can get the OEM specs on those codes. some of those codes may be the key to your answer. and sometimes the egt's wont set a code, but they will glitch, cause poor drivability and black smoke out the tail pipe from running rich..

Two of the unknown codes are running to rich, and the last is a faulty EGT sensor on bank 1.

Other then ordering EGT, i dont know what would cause the misfires....

a bit more info...

cars getting around 13-15 mpg, misfires increase on idle versus under load....

no large amounts of smoke or anything.... hesitates under WOT/anything other then light acceleration.

with egt code setting, whenever you're under boost/load then timing is pulled and fuel is dumped super rich, hence, misfire codes. fix the egt and you should see most of these issues clear up. oh.. and btw.. go ahead and get both of them, as the other is sure to follow..

What Bigern45 said is pretty much on the money. In a rich condition, the extra fuel can foul the plug, causing it to basically drown in fuel. In those situations, the spark won't be able to light the fuel, and hence, a misfire. Replacing those sensors is a must.

Last code has nothing to do with misfiring. 17965 is more likely a boost leak in the system:

But as the article explains, can be other things too.

Pressure test your system with one of these :

Pretty cheap for a well made model.

Good luck

Well good news and bad news.

misfire was handled due to sensors.

but......the previous owner had the car with a leaky headgasket, ended up toasting the bottom end due to a shortened rod.

needless to say the bottom end seized on me one night when starting my car in my driveway
now parting out my baby.....since it doesnt make financial sense for me to fix.
