My 2000 is tiptronic and like many other s4s the lcd in the guage cluster is comepletely unreadable. I don't even mind this except I DONT KNOW WHAT GEAR IM IN! I mean off a start Its easy to tell the upshifts but sometimes the tip will have mind of its own if it does not like what gear I'm in. So I don't always know. Is there any device I could use to tell without forking out 800 dollars for a whole new dash? (This is all assuming the trans is in tiptronic mode)

 

jsut get on ebay you can pick up a whole dash kit for like 200 i think or at least under 800 and jsut take out the lcd.
