Default car issue help..

So a couple weeks ago i had a very rough start where it started very harsh and idled rough but was fine after a minute or two but it also through the cel. Well i was already scheduled to go to the shop the next day so i just had them clear the codes since it was running fine. i know a few of the codes had to do wiht a misfire. Well recently it has been still idling rough will fluctuate occasionaly between 800-950 rpm and sort of shake as well as when im coming to a stop. As well as at idle im only at about 18 inHg compard to usually at 22. i still reach about 20 lbs boost under WOT and off throttle at about 26 inHg and during shifts it seems a bit harsh right at the shift. Does any one have any ideas off hand what the issue could be? any help would be appreciate.

yeah.. i dont know..

I have 3 ideas.. as i havent got to look at it yet..
1. vac leak somewhere.. Seems to me it could be running lean.. and with a vac leak the turbos will work harder giving me full boost normally..but under idle getting less vaccuum.
2. bad/old spark plug or misgap.. if its just not firing correctly ..obviously
3. doubt it..but potential maf.

Avant.. That did come up with a discussion between me and my friend while we were thinking waht it could be with teh throttle position sensor...

Do you have any ideas what would be a good indication that that may be it.. Im still looking to get on a vag here soon.. do you knwo what codes will show for that if any.

have you done a throttle body adaptation?

you can rule out alot of those possible causes by logging with VAG

what DTC codes caused the CEL?
