Default Car Jerking

Hi everyone.

So this is the issue im having... Occasionally when I stomp on the gas, my car will suddenly jerk or shake. It aslo happens sometimes when slowing to a slow speed under 10-15mph. Not all the time just occaisionally. I have a few ideas but want some more feedback.

Thanks.

Hey, what car is it? I have an 01 s4 and my car would suddenly shake and the engine power would cut out if i would give it gas, occasionally. After months of asking around and researching I've gotten to the conclusion with my s4 that its time to change the headgasket... ask your mechanic, im going first thing on Monday

The car is an 02 S4 with 47000 miles. I dont lose any power and have come to the conclusion that its probably my motor mounts. Any feedback to that?

There are no fault codes coming up either.

my car did that when I first got it chipped. It ended up being a trashed diverter valve and a boost leak coming from the throttle body boot.

Really? Didn't even consider those possiblities. What exactly was wrong with the DV? I put on the Bosch 710N DV's in January, so don't think its those, was planning on gettting a new TBB in about 3 weeks, very interesting though.

the daiphram in the bosch valve probably got ripped. They are known for doing that. as for the throttle body boot, take it off and check for holes or tears. if there are any then buy a silicone samco one or if u have the extra cash get the y pipe from ecs tuning which will fix the problem permanently. also you might wanna get soem better diverter valves. I am going to be getting a pair of forge 007's.

Just curious, what if anything is wrong with the 710N's? Thought those ones were alright and much better than the stock. The cost was also a big factor at the time though to be honest. But getting the chip soon, should I go with even better ones like the Forge 007 or APR R1's?

I have heard of many stage 3 s4's running fine with th 710N's. Yet then again I have heard of them going bad on a stage one or two car so its probably just a hit and miss kind of thing. I personally am getting the Forge 007 valves.

Success! I had an APR snub mount installed at the same time as the APR chip and silicone TBB and the problem is comepletely gone! The shifts are now completey smooth and no more "jerking". Thanks everyone.
