Default cluster ?

I have a 2000 s4, and since the day I bought the car I have had a small crack about 1/4" long in my cluster "glass". Now that it's getting colder out the crack is slowly making it's way across the tach...lol. My options are A. replace the cluster from audi and pay like a grand because of a crack in it(really sucks because my lcd works great). B. buy a used cluster and swap in. C. buy an s4 cluster and just take the front of that one and swap it with mine. I'm leaning towards c. But now here is the real question, will the front "Glass" off an a4 work on my S? they look the same, they both fit in the same spot, and an a4 cluster is next to nothing to buy

a cluster with navi, is going to run you probably in the 300$ range on ebay, or shokan audi salvage if you can find one. A4 clusters are dirt cheap, but thats from a late 90's a4 (not going to work electronically with an s) I'm just asking if anyone knows if the front piece of "glass" is the same
