Clutch problems please help
I sold my 00 S4 yesterday. I had a new clutch put in last may when i got the car and drove it starting in October. The car was fine till two days ago ( then the new owner's got it) Today I get a phone call from the guys saying that theres something wrong with the car. They claim that when the car heats up ( I think they mean really heats up for whatever reason) the clutch does not work. They said that their dadtook the car for a test drive after they bought the car andwhen he came back the car didnt work right so my guess is that he burned the clutch andhe doesnt want to admit it and wants me to pay for his not knowing of how to drive stick. What I'm asking for is an anwser or a suggestion as to what they could of done., bc they want me to pay for the problem which I think is bs because a new clutch doesnt brake in a day. so again the engine heats up they didnt say how much , and then the clutch doesnt work, the car seems to be in limp mode its on but it doesnt move or drive. Its 6 speed manual. I asked the guys over at Audizine they gave some good anwsers I'm just looking for more info before I talk to the guys. Also I wasnt aware of the problem bc that problem did not exsist when I had the car. All the guys at Audizine I def should not pay for the problem bc they test drove it ( the new owners) and there was no problem the car was taken to redline to show that the car is working perfect throught the powerband.
Anyways every single bit of info will help.
Thanks to all that will help out

you should go check it out yourself and see whats up. drive it and what not. and legally you dont have to do ****. people takes chances when buying a car from someone else or even a dealer with no warranty.
I'm going to meet up with them today I just want to have some info to back myself up, but yeah I know what you mean. The one thing that I have been hearing is that I shouldnt pay for it if there was no problem during the test drive or a day of owning the car by the new owners.
in the UK we call it sold as seen so no come back ( if they tested it when they bought it and were happy to pay ) then you did your job, if they thought it was a rocket or street racer and used it that way how the hell could you know.
meet up with them with your data and specify you will charge for the interview if they cant provide proper cause

if they test drove the car and were happy then that's an end to it ( do not go back on the deal ) unless you knew beforehand something was wrong and that's called deception so be sure what you sold and stick to it
I'm 100% sure that there was no problems with the clutch or anything that would cause the car to not go. The car was in perfect or very good condition when they drove it and they were happy to buy it. I'm pretty sure its how they used it or who drove it, one of them said he has his lisence suspended for speeding. So I dont know i' mean I guess it would be the way they drove thecar. If I could get one more thing from you guys anyone who reads this can you guys just say wether I should pay for the repair "yes" or "no".

Sold as is like every other used car. I'm sure they went out and beat the **** out of it right after they bought it.

yeah I have the reseipt and even their garage told them the clutch was brand new. I know for a fact there was nothing wrong becasue I had the car serviced a couple of weeks before they came. I'm going to go with them today where the clutch was put it in and see what they say there. I know that the fault is not on my side. but like you guys said they prollyburned the clutch after they got it.
