Detective question....
Been hearing a creaking inside the car when I turn the wheel to the left and even as I slowly come to a stop. Under the CPO.. my dealership replaced a spring in the steering column first.. no luck. They then repalced the entire steering column! No luck. I replaced my outer tie-rods last month and had the car realigned....no problems with that. Now they related it is my driver's side inner tie-rod that is causing the noise... and it radiates into the cabin and steeering wheel.
Similar issue?? Anyone have their inner tie rods replaced?? Price est??? Heard is as much more difficult then the ends.
Thanks!
Mike

Yeah same here, i just did the lower control arm on the right side of mine. Had about the same noise you are talking about. Wasn't too expensive about $85 for the part through my work and i did the install myself in less than an hour. The problem with mine was the ball joint had play and that was making the noise. I'd have a mechanic lift the car and shakedown the front end.
Thanks alot guys! I realize there is some trial and error with this stuff but it can get pricey and time consuming! I am realizing more and more that the dealership near me is lit! Ha!
if you can, try and find a audi or german performance shop or autoshop near you. these guys really know their stuff and will have the same love for these cars as other enthusiasts do. but still, take that with a grain of salt. there are some who don't know anything and will still try to charge you an immense amount. just do your best and find the best place. dealerships will be way overpriced, from my experience.
