ok, i did a search and couldn't find anything with the same problem... i'm trying to avoid paying for a new key...

i just bought a 2000 S4, locking the vehicle with the keyless entry works without a problem... but the unlock button only works when it wants too... i've taken the key apart and replaced the batteries and it gives me the same problem...

any ideas?????

The button is probably going bad. I can't remember, are there contacts you can clean in there?

 

i couldn't get it broken down far enough... the silicon board is glued down, and i only got the one key, so i didn't want to risk breaking it!!!
