Diverter valves
biggest thing, it wont hold boost. if you have a boost gauge you'll see it drop slowly when you floor it. if you dont you should notice a loss in hp. you cant take them apart to see without destroying them in the process. if you have higher milage and dont know if they've been replaced you should do it anyway for peace of mind, maybe go for upgrades
I'm not chipped yet, I'm dying to do it but my delema is that if I do chip it and then later on I go stage 3 I would have to get another chip.

1 pull of the DV.
2 Compress the piston with your finger
3 While the piston is depressed place your finger over the nipple and hold it there
4 Remove your finger from the piston
If the piston stays up your good. If it drops the DV is bad.

i'm pretty certain with apr, if you flash your ecu, and end up upgrading turbo's, exhaust, or whatever. they will reflash with the program needed for free. at least that is what the dealer that flashed mine said... so i'm gonna hold him to it. as far as the dv for a b5 s4... there are two.
