Default Dot 4 brake fluid used for Power steering

WTF! I am just finding out that the previous owner had been using DOT 4 brake fluid in the power steering! God only knows how long it has been in there..

Any help would be great.

Oh wow, I thought I actually asked something, not just made a statement.

I have asked around and received suggestions elsewhere.

Also talked to the previous owner and he says he made a mistake, he used regular prestone power steering fluid, not the DOT 4. He just replaced the front brakes, and got the two mixed up.

He probably put in the brake fluid to slow down power steering leaks. Brake fluid will swell your seals in the power steering system.

Flush it out with chf11s as soon as possible if it's not already too late. The brake fluid will destroy the hoses , power steering pump & steering rack.
