Default downpipe power comparison??

okay so i know abotu 6 months ago on autozine there was a giant post war thingie abot ssac turbo backs versus awe and apr and even piggies a little bit.
what im wondering is if there is anysource of dyno comparisons, or if some people who are chipped and have a turbo back if they ever dynoed it and could start a real comparion. to do power to dollar comparison to see how everything stacks up.
i am in no way starting this to get a huge arguement going on, but i would just like to see a true comparison instead of opinions on price and inferred quality so on and so forth

thanks gusy

Well the thing that gives the quicker spool and what your talking about with more hp is the diameter of the dp's and the bend they make coming down outta the turbos and into the exhaust. With that said awe downpipes as well as apr and ssac are both 3'' at the back of the turbo and there can only be so much difference in design for the bends...so that leaves you to be playing with or discussing on here a total of 1 single hp. The only thing I know that could really be argued with is (please shoot me for bringing this up again) is the quality of ssac. With that said i'm done here.

AWE APR and SSAC all taper from 3" to a real 2.5, while ASP is 3" all the way through. Same price. Done.

really for the money ssac or xs-power are fine, if you really care get dumps that you can just open.that way you get lots of flow cause as everyone knows the more gas cools the more it expands. so dumps get it away faster and closer to the dps and less room for the gas to expand and cool. hope this helps at all, just do what marc does and run open dps

opposite day?

thermal EXPANSION, each molecule of gas posses more energy at a higher temperature so it takes up more space, thats why you want intake air as cold as possible so its denser. Its Why we have charge-air coolers and water/meth injection.

Hot air rises, and cool air falls because of this density thing...

But i do agree with you, the cheaper 2.5" downpipes flow more than enough for stock or k04 turbos.

Also cutouts/dumps are the *****, replace your main cats with straight pipes & dumps!

My question is, Instead of buying the questionable SSAC products why not just gut your Stock downpipes, relocate 02 bungs and get exhaust dumps. Its going to be the same effect for less money.
