I took a drive up to Sharon Mass this weekend and had a chance to drive a friends AMG C32. He took my 04 S4 for a ride as well. We both had a blast driving each others car, and it gave us a good appreciation for the differences and similarities in these two cars, aimed somewhat at the same audience.

The C32 suspension was much quiter and comfortable/smoother on uneven and bumpy road surfaces. The interior is typical Mercedes, functional and clean. I have to say that the seats were nice, but I prefer the S4 seats, which are much firmer and seem to give better support. The sightlines are better in the C32, much better views left, right and behind than the S4. The C32 has a boatload of torque and it seems to kick in pretty soon. I think they are rated at 350hp and it likes to go fast.

Anyway, we did some windy roads and a couble of blasts down the freeway...Overall the C32 seems like they toned down the sports car side in favor of kind of a super grand touring car. Very well mannered, comfortable, with lots of power.

A fun car for sure...But I much prefer the S4, feels more like a sports car, is just as quick or maybe a little quicker.
