Silverstars installed - driving impressions
I saw that silverstars were on sale (15% off) at Part Source here in Canada. Figured what the hell, why not give them a try. I picked up the white ones, H7 for my 2000 A4.
The good:
- They do illuminate road signs much better than stock bulbs
- They illuminate further up the road (maybe 20 feet more)
- They illuminate the sides of the road better than stock bulbs
- I have been told that the light coming from my headlights look more "euro" - clearer and whiter not yellowish.
- They were relatively cheap
The bad:
- The stock one piece valeo housings aren't very good (this may be because they are projectors rather than just a bulb pointed at the road)
- I honestly thought I'd notice a bigger difference than 20 feet
- They apparently explode if any moisture gets to them (maybe thats the same with all bulbs)
I noticed a big difference when I had one stock and one silverstar installed shining against the garage door, but very little difference while driving. If you don't have the cash for E-Codes, this is definately an alternate route, just don't expect much of a difference over stock. I didn't notice much difference driving down a dark road. Once these bulbs go I'll give the PIAAs a try.

Just wait... its coming.
I didn't take pics because people have posted them before. Just thought I'd give my 2 cents. If people want actual pics, i'll do it.

pictures of lighting is very subjective.. it is too hard to get a "true" picture of a light.
I think his description did very well to let us know the differences in the lights.
I've seen pictures of regualr headlights that look like HID.. because of the way a camera takes in light.
