Default ECU question

Hi, I am looking to buy a 2000 S4 and was wondering what software I could use to tune the car with?
I've seen the GIAC and ARP chips but even as a dealer they won't give you ability to upload a custom tune.
Would I need to get the software from Motronic or is othersoftware available?

Thanks for the reply. I'm a noob to Audi's and will be driving 200 miles tomorrow to check out an 2000 S4. I hope its as good as it sounds and looks in the pics.
I'm not familar with an "OTS Flash." Just starting to get into tuning and will be taking an EFI101 class in a few weeks. I've sold parts before but mainly for Imports.
Hoping to get the S4 and park my 96 Prelude for an h22a4 swap and turn it into a track car. Time to upgrade.

Yea, I've done it to my car, & a couple of others.

I used to tune BMW's ECU's if you understand how the ECU works, it's really easy to tune. That's how I had a normally aspirated 300hp I-4 BMW.

Awe, Matt you are making me blush

Well, the first thing would be to get a old carberated car with a point type distributor. Go on a drive, then pull over & mess with it, you will learn quickly.

Then after you get the idea down, go & purchase the Bosh FI book, lots of great stuff in it. Then mess with some simple 80's FI cars. Mess with them a bit.

It also doesn't hurt that I have a degree in Physics.
