So I am wanting to open up my exhaust a little more and make it a little louder. Howevever I don't have a ton of money for an exhaust system right now. SO I was wondering if anyone has just removed the resonator and muffler from the car and just ran pipe there instead. I STILL have my cats in, they are not gutted. I know gutting the cats will help a lot as well but would doing what I just mentioned help out? How loud would it be? Thanks!

i think if you take both out it will be significantly louder, maybe try just the resonator first then the muffler if you want more sound. And yes it has been done before

I'll try and get a vid up on youtube. I had a muffler shop make me a custom exhaust. I took the entire stock exhaust off from the cats back. Then I put dual 2.25" pipes all the way back. I have vids up on youtube now, but it was done with a digital camera and has terrible sound quality. I get compliments all the time. But it is pretty loud. Never been pulled over for it yet though, so it cant be too loud!

Well it looks the same as stock, but yea its straight through duals from the cats back. I personally love the sound. But I'm sure a lot of people on here wouldn't cuz it kinda loud. But when the rpms get up it just sounds exotic...well thats what most people tell me. I'll borrow a video camera tomorrow but until then I'll see if I can get pictures and maybe a video tonight.
