Default Front license Plate valence question

Well I just bought a 01 avant which came from Arizona and of course it doesn't have a front license plate... I live in Washington DC and the numerous police agencies around here hate it... Can anyone point me in direction of a frame/valence piece. I don't want to drill any holes so I think I am going to try the DIY with magnets. Painted or not I don't care but I don't want to zip tie it either. Thanks guys

Happy 4th of July.

Where are my fingers???? Mom!!!!

Behind the insert piece do you have inserted metal pieces? I've attached a pic of what mine looked like under the cover piece. I'm not sure if all model had the same setup by I was able to find a black plastic license plate bracket at Walmart and attach it using two screws into the metal inserts. If and when I'd like the no plate look I can unscrew it and put on the plastic insert as well with no holes.

If you don't have these metal inserts I wish you luck!

On the B5 that center piece is removable to allow a front plate. IL has front plates as well, although I have not put mine yet and most likley will not. If your in need of the front plate mount I have one brand new OEM Audi, never used.

You can get the OEM bracket from ECS, but I recall it being kind of expensive (~$100 ) for some stupid piece of metal bent in the shape of a rectangle.

Also, I might add, I was missing the front bracket/plate on my last B5 and did get pulled over for it (I live in Colorado). My solution was to just keep the front license plate on the floor of the back seat and if I got pulled over, when the cop asked about it I would just reach into the back seat and make up some crap like "yeah, here it is officer. I apologize, it just fell off the other day and I haven't had a chance to get it fiexed yet." Worked like a charm.

Thanks guys,,,,, I will see if my Euro cover comes off. I didn't want to experiment and end up tearing a big hole in my front end...
