From what I read online about it:
2000
Black (ext.)
Black (int.)
Manual, 2.7 T
46,321 miles
Stock

(let me know if you need more info)

What about if I dont plan to mod the car (not talking specifically about the one mentioned in this thread), then will I still have troubles with it, even if I take such great care of it and all!?!

*Tiptronic is for people who cant decide over Auto or Manual

These are solid cars, but they're not Japanese. If reliability is your number one concern, you are looking into the wrong kind of vehicle. If properly cared for, I don't see any reason why a B5 (or B6/B7) can't be a 250,000 mile car. The engine and transmission are both very well made and have proven that they can take a serious beating and still ask for more (see RS6 hybrid turbos producing 500-600hp in other threads)

These cars need maintenance, regular SYNTHETIC oil changes, timing belt every 60k miles, clutch, etc... And granted, **** is going to break. Honestly, the only thing that's going to notoriously run up the repair costs on these cars are the turbos. They are known to be pretty touchy. Some people have posted that that they have almost 200k miles on the stock set, some peoples' turbos die after 60k miles. It's too hard to tell if the turbos on the car you decide to buy are going to last. So, when you buy this car, plan on paying $4-5k at some point in the future (unless you can DIY) to have your turbos swapped.

I'm not trying to scare you away, but just be aware that the turbos have gone bad for a lot of folks and they are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. However, I also think that the turbo reliability depends HEAVILY on how the car is driven and whether or not the car has been modified.

I got my 2002 w/ 59k for $17k out the door.

2000 for $20k hahahahaha laugh at them. That car is worth about $14,500, that's what I'd pay. Still too many of them out there in great shape to justify such a high price even from a dealer. If 16 is the dealer blue book price, then they are smoking some good ****, ask them to roll you one up so you can see things from their point of view LOL.

Im so jealous, all of you have such BEAUTIFUL cars!!!
I did my homework and from what I gathered, an Audi will have to be driven in my dreams... From what Iread from this forum and advice I have gotten on here, it is too high maintenance- for me. I respect all of you who have the patience and time spent into your cars, and the money that goes into them too. Maybe someday I will have one, but now isnt the right time for me.[&o]

3rd that. I had 2 A4's before the S4. Actually my last A4 is for sale by the person who bought it from the dealership after I traded it in.

LOL

Haha thats horrible! I bought my 04 with 42k loaded and perfectfor $25k out the door. Now a car four years older with more miles for only $4000 less? I see something wrong with that!
