I currently own a 2005 Silver S4. I owe $7000.00 on it. It will be paid off in a year.

I have an opportunity to purchase a 2008 S5 (Grey) or a 2007 RS4 (Imola Yellow). The S5 has 25,000 miles and is 44K. The RS4 has 31,000 miles and is 42K. The dealer will give me 15K for the S4. Payments over 5 years is $750 for the S5 and $712 for the RS4.

The RS4 does not have the premium package and comes with a stock radio. The S5 has the Bang & Oluffsen.

What would you do? Keep the S4 or buy the S5 or RS4?

I drove both. The S5 drives no differently than the S4. The RS4 was fast but it didn't blow my mind coming from my current S4. In my mind it was only marginally quicker.

 

Keep the S4, pay it off and drive it for free for a few years. You don't seem to have fallen in love with either of the other two cars. If you had fellen for them and they were that much better you wouldn't be asking the question. Without that I don't see the point in dropping an extra 27-29k +interest over the next few years.

Just the humble opinion of a current Vintage A4 and soon to be B7 S4 owner.

 

After contemplating keeping my B6 S4 I decided to trade it in on a B7 Imola RS4.

Originally I did not think the RS4 was that much quicker. Then I took it out for a second test drive and drove it like I stole it. IT IS MUCH QUICKER. The exhaust note is demonic.

In the three days I have owned this car I have received numerous comments from people about it.
