2007 vs 2008 A4
What are the differences and which is more reliable?
I have never owned an audi but I love them and I really want to buy an A4.
I know that they have a lot of problems but how about the 07s or 08s? have they built them better or will I still run into a lot of problems?

With a 07, or 08 you cannot go wrong. This was the last years for the 8E platform (sedan) and with most cars the last couple of years will mean that all the bugs have been worked out. I live and work here in Germany and the A4 B7's last year (here) ended Sept 2007, then they started making the new A4 B8. I was told the out going B7's produced from Sept 2007 on to Sept 2008 were no longer produced (assembled) in Germany (Ingolstadt) , but in China or India? I am not sure how accurate that is though.

and yes previous models did have problem with fuel pump, DV and PCV valves......and there are problems with cam follower. First 3 were taken care of by 08 (not sure if it was fixed in 07 or 08)

And as far as I know Ingolstadt Germany still produces Audi's! It was just the A4 B7 I was told had stopped being produced there at the end of 2007.

Hmm, let's see, I special ordered a 2008 A4 B7 (3.2 6MT Titanium ...) model in early October of 2007 (so it had to be special built), I took delivery on January 30 2008, and the window sticker says:
This vehicle's final assembly point is Ingolstadt, Germany with the engine coming from Hungary and the transmission coming from Germany.
There was another place on/in the car itself, that I can't recall at this moment, that verified this also.
This car was ordered in the US and delivery was taken in the US.
I agree that the European A4 B7 models were discontinued well before the US A4 B7 models were discontinued. Europe got the A4 B8s almost a year before us in the US had a chance at them.

Ahh... So it was not China or India, but Spain. Final assembly Germany.
"When its successor, the new B8 A4 range was introduced, the B7 series A4 was restyled and rebadged as the SEAT Exeo in 2008, with styling changes to the front and rear, also incorporating interior trim from the A4 Cabriolet. The entire Audi B7 A4 production line from Ingolstadt was dismantled and sent to Volkswagen Group's related SEAT factory in Martorell, Spain."
